Terms of use

Who operates this site
AsbestosDirectoryUK is operated by CDM Marketing Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14010841). Registered office: 34 Clarence St, Southend-on-Sea SS1 1BD. AsbestosDirectoryUK is a trading name of CDM Marketing Ltd; it is not a separate legal entity. In these terms, references to “AsbestosDirectoryUK”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean CDM Marketing Ltd trading as AsbestosDirectoryUK.
1. What AsbestosDirectoryUK is
AsbestosDirectoryUK is a directory and enquiry-matching platform. We are not an asbestos contractor and do not carry out asbestos surveys, testing, sampling or removal work ourselves. Any work is carried out by independent third-party contractors, not by AsbestosDirectoryUK.
2. Listings and contractor information
- Directory information may be based on publicly available sources unless and until a listing is claimed by the relevant company.
- A Free listing is a basic directory entry. It carries no public phone, email or website link and no claimed, verified or recommended badge. Enquiries route through the quote form.
- A Claimed profile means the business has confirmed it represents that listing and can manage its information. Claimed does not by itself mean verified, approved, recommended, insured or licensed.
- Premium and Sponsored are paid visibility features that require an active subscription. Listings on either tier may display public phone, email and a clickable website link when enabled by the contractor. Because these are paid placements, outbound website links from contractor profiles are marked
rel="sponsored"— Google's purpose-built attribute for paid links. They drive referral click-through traffic but do not pass SEO ranking signal, which keeps the directory compliant with Google's link-spam policy. Neither Premium nor Sponsored is a recommendation, endorsement or verification. - Individual credentials only. Where a credential check is shown, it relates only to that specific item — for example a single licence, accreditation or insurance document — that has been individually reviewed and approved for display, with relevant dates where available. A credential check on one item is not a statement about the company as a whole, any other credential, or its suitability for a particular job. We do not use broad "verified", "approved", "trusted", "best" or "top-rated" badges, and being listed, claimed or on a paid plan is never a credential check.
- Customer reviews are only shown when approved. We do not create, edit or display fake reviews.
- Listings can be removed or amended at any time. Some listings may be hidden if a contractor is no longer trading, has requested removal or no longer meets our acceptance criteria.
2a. Contractor-supplied content (images & copy)
- Contractors with portal access can submit changes to their own profile — company details, descriptions, logo, gallery images and accreditations. Contractor-submitted changes are reviewed by AsbestosDirectoryUK before they go live; until a change is approved, the public profile continues to show the last approved version.
- By submitting images or text, the contractor warrants that they own or have the necessary rights and licences to use and publish that content, and grants CDM Marketing Ltd a non-exclusive licence to display it on AsbestosDirectoryUK.
- Where an uploaded image contains identifiable individuals, the contractor confirms they have obtained the necessary consent for that image to be published (including under UK GDPR / the Data Protection Act 2018).
- The contractor indemnifies CDM Marketing Ltd against any claim arising from content they supply, including claims relating to intellectual-property infringement, defamation or breach of data-protection or privacy rights.
- We may edit, reject, remove or decline to publish any contractor-supplied content at our discretion, and may strip contact details (phone numbers, emails and web addresses) from free-text fields. Contact between customers and contractors is intended to happen through our enquiry and lead process.
- Self-declared accreditations and memberships are not displayed publicly. Credential and document information submitted by a contractor is kept private and is shown on the public profile only after AsbestosDirectoryUK has individually reviewed it and approved it for display. Supporting evidence (such as uploaded documents) is held privately and is never published. Displaying an approved credential check is not an endorsement of the contractor.
- Contractor responsibility. Contractors are responsible for ensuring the credential, licence, accreditation and insurance information they submit is accurate, current and lawfully held, and for keeping it up to date. AsbestosDirectoryUK's review does not transfer or reduce that responsibility.
3. Sponsored placements
- Sponsored placements are paid placements. They are always clearly labelled "Sponsored".
- Sponsored listings include the same public contact display as Premium profiles (phone, email and clickable website link, when enabled by the contractor), plus priority position on directory, service and location pages.
- "Sponsored" does not mean recommended, approved, best, top-rated, verified or trusted by AsbestosDirectoryUK.
- Sponsored placements never replace relevant organic results — organic results are always shown alongside paid placements.
4. Enquiry matching
- When you submit an enquiry, you choose how it should be matched (one contractor, up to three contractors, requested contractor first if possible, or platform-chosen).
- A redacted summary of your enquiry may be shown to relevant contractors before any contact details are released.
- Where you came from a specific contractor profile, we will prioritise that company for your enquiry where they cover the requested service and area, but cannot guarantee they will respond or accept the job.
- We do not guarantee that any contractor will respond, will quote, will accept the work or will respond within any specific timeframe.
5. No professional advice
Information on AsbestosDirectoryUK is general information about the asbestos services market in the UK. It is not legal, regulatory, health and safety, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before acting on any matter relating to asbestos. Asbestos licensing is nation-specific: most higher-risk licensable work is regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in Great Britain and by the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) in Northern Ireland, and not all asbestos work is licensable. Always check the relevant licence, accreditation and insurance requirements for your specific work, and confirm a contractor's credentials directly, before appointing them.
6. Pricing and availability
We do not control or guarantee contractor availability, response time, scope of work or pricing. Any quote, contract or arrangement is between you and the contractor directly.
AsbestosDirectoryUK and CDM Marketing Ltd are not VAT registered. Any AsbestosDirectoryUK product (listing visibility, sponsored placement, contractor credits) is priced as a final GBP amount. No VAT charged. Receipts and invoices issued for AsbestosDirectoryUK products are not VAT invoices. This does not affect any VAT a third-party contractor may charge you for the work they carry out.
6a. Contractor products: credits, subscriptions, cancellation and refunds
- Premium and Sponsored listings are recurring subscriptions billed monthly or annually. They auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel any time by emailing partners@asbestosdirectoryuk.co.uk. Paid features remain active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for; after that the listing reverts to a free listing, which remains in the directory.
- Purchased credits never expire. Credits you buy as a top-up stay in your balance until you spend them.
- The lead credits included with a Premium or Sponsored subscription are a monthly allowance: they do not roll over from month to month and they end when the subscription ends. Included credits are spent before purchased credits.
- Credit top-ups and subscription fees are payment for digital services that are made available immediately, and are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer where they apply.
- Each lead unlock price is shown to the contractor before they choose to unlock the enquiry, and that price does not change after the offer has been made.
- Payments for subscriptions and credit purchases are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
6b. Lead Quality & Credit Return Policy
Lead credits and subscription fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law (see section 6a above). As a goodwill and quality measure, we may return lead credits (not cash) to a contractor's account following a substantiated complaint about an unlocked lead, in the circumstances set out below. To request a credit return, contact support@compliancetradenetwork.co.uk within 7 days of unlocking the lead.
| Situation | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Genuine lead that does not turn into a job | No credit return |
| Customer does not answer after genuine details were supplied | Normally no credit return |
| Invalid phone number or email address | Credit return after review |
| Duplicate enquiry already unlocked recently | Credit return |
| Spam or fraudulent enquiry | Credit return |
| Clearly wrong service or location due to a platform categorisation error | Credit return |
| Dispute timeframe | Raise within 7 days of unlocking the lead |
Credit returns are issued at our reasonable discretion after review of the complaint and supporting information. This policy does not promise cash refunds, and genuine leads that simply do not convert are not eligible for a return.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to submit false enquiries, attempt to scrape the directory in bulk, attempt to bypass Cloudflare Turnstile or other anti-abuse controls, or use the site in a way that breaches any law. We may rate-limit, refuse or remove enquiries that appear automated, abusive or off-topic.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CDM Marketing Ltd (trading as AsbestosDirectoryUK) is not liable for the acts, omissions, work quality, pricing or conduct of any third-party contractor. Our liability to you for any cause connected with the use of this site is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid to CDM Marketing Ltd for use of this site in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including, in the UK, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation).
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version applies from the effective date shown on this page.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this site or these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
